Marco
Baumgartner
Marco Baumgartner is
not your ordinary young man. He grew up around a family of circus
performers, and made his debut performance as a juggler when he
was only thirteen.
Throughout his entire
youth, Marco travelled around the world with various circus artists
and soon caught the circus fever. However, he did not immediately
start his career in the circus as his parents insisted that he get
a “real” job. Trained as a graphic designer, he became
an apprentice for a couple of years before deciding to explore new
horizons.
Heading east, he started
his adventure in Mongolia while living with a local family. During
his stay, he learnt to live in the simplest of conditions, which
helped to shape him to who he is today. Deciding that he wanted
a more carefree life, he obtained a job as a flight attendant with
Swissair so that he could travel round the world.
It
was during this time that he realised that a career in the circus
was what he had been longing for. This was when he conceptualised
the idea of building a circus in Asia . After a period of intensive
market research, he settled upon setting up his base in Singapore – and that was how Taipan Circus was born.
